We are developing a range of services specifically for older adults in our community. Many of our members who are retired from full time work fill vital volunteering roles in many of our ministries.
Visitation Team
The Visitation Team provide company and support to those in need during difficult periods of their lives. This includes hospital and home visits.
Coffee Shop
The Mossy Cafe is currently open from 10am - 2.00pm on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. We offer FREE hot drinks for those aged 70 and over - so please don't be offended if we ask your age, we are trying to make no-one who is entitled misses out!
Young at Heart [returning in 2022]
Held three times a year, Young at Heart is Sunday lunch for everyone aged 65+. followed by an afternoon of love and laughter!
Ailsa Court Service
We hold monthly Sunday services for the residents of Ailsa Court sheltered housing complex. We meet there at 1.30pm, singing their favourite traditional hymns, and sharing using drama, poems and short words of encouragement. [Next services 4th September 2022, 2nd October 2022, 13th November 2022 (Remembrance Sunday), 18th December 2022 (Christmas Service)]
Re-engage (formerly Contact the Elderly) [returning in 2022]
We also host a "Re-engage (formerly Contact the Elderly)" lunch twice a year, and would encourage others to support this important charity.
Buckets of Blessings 2021
The list is a suggested list for an outreach for the Young at Heart inside the church as well as outside the church community walls.
Young at Heart is the group within the church that consists of the elderly that attend Mossvale Community Church as well as other elderly folk that is outside the Church. This is run by the Visitation Team to show the love of Jesus and support to the community within the Church as well as outside the Church walls.
