Charitable donations

Mossvale Community Church is a Scottish charity [SC034871] registered with OSCR, the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator. Our accounts and PAYE is managed by the company chartered accountants Nelson Gilmour Smith.

Our finances are used towards the upkeep of our buildings, for salaries and contracted work, to facilitate the activities of our ministry groups, and to support individuals and causes including other charities both in the UK and overseas. We receive donations and process them as Gift Aid, General Offerings, Missions Fund or Building Fund.

Giving online

Several people have begun tithing online since the Covid-19 pandemic either as a monthly or weekly standing order, or for the self employed a BACS transfer when they receive income. Please email us to receive these details at mossvalecommunitychurch@gmail.com

Food & Toiletry Donations

Mossvale has a food and other essentials store cupboard, which any individuals and families can access without formal referral or voucher. Access is also offered  to members of the local refugee community we support, including those who are currently staying in local hotels.  We would suggest donations include tins that open with ring pulls,  and foods that do not require cooking. We do not have a great requirement for meat products as many eat a halal or vegetarian diet,  or do not have access to a fridge.  Many non-food items are of value such as toiletries and products for babies and children.

We try to keep a stock of:
cereals, porridge oats, breakfast bars, pasta, pasta sauce, *rice (dried & microwaveable), couscous,  *flour (plain and self-raising), *cooking oil, tins of soup, *tomatoes, lentils,  beans, pulses, meat, vegetables, fruit,
*tea / coffee (including decaf) / hot chocolate, uht milk,  fruit juice,  diluting juice, biscuits and other snacks, *sugar, salt, pepper and other spices or sauces, *sanitary protection, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, razors, wipes
*these are the most popular items

Clothing Donations

Donations can be received at the Mossy Cafe to be passed on to Clothed In Love to be distributed to children, or Sewing2gether All Nations to be given to the local refugee community.
