We recognise the vital importance of intergenerational activities at Mossvale. As a church family, we have many opportunities to develop this.
Intergenerational practice aims to bring people together in purposeful, mutually beneficial activities which promote greater understanding and respect between generations and contributes to building more cohesive communities. Intergenerational practice is inclusive, building on the positive resources that the younger and older have to offer each other and those around them. (Beth Johnson Foundation, 2009)
We believe at Mossvale we experience together:
- intergenerational worship
- intergenerational fellowship
- intergenerationl learning
- Intergenerational celebration
We do this through a range of events and groups such as:
- Sunday Services / Family Services
- Bubblegum & Fluff / Easter Code
- Sewing2gether All Nations
- Ailsa Court monthly service / ReEngage Afternoon Teas
- And special events such as concerts, parties etc
For #IntergenerationalWeek 2022, we are encouraging parents and grandparents to bake with the the younger family members! Then on Sunday 1st May we will all have lunch together following the Family Service at 11am. Finally at 1.30pm we will have a Cake Auction with all their creations, raising funds for Osmond Rescue Aid Mission, an NGO supporting families, schools and churches in Ghana.
