For some people going anywhere for the first time can be a bit of a nerve-racking experience. To help avoid any worries here's a quick summary of what you can expect on a Sunday morning at Mossvale.

First of all we aren't super-spiritual beings, we all have had a 'first day' at church. You will find we are a friendly bunch, and if you don't understand something please simply ask!

We start our meeting at 11.15am with a few minutes of notices keeping us informed of diary dates etc, then we spend about 30 minutes worshipping. Our worship time consists of modern songs (with guitars, keyboards and drums), anyone can contribute appropriate Bible verses and some may bring words of encouragement. Everyone participates in the worship but at noon the kids go to their own groups, and we also run a crèche for the little ones.

We then have a Bible based talk that is relevant and meaningful to our lives. We believe in listening to God and what he wants from us, so if the Pastor feels that God is calling us to pray for a specific situation or people we won't stand in the way of that. The Pastor may ask if anyone requires prayer to help them with issues in their lives, this may be with fellow believers laying hands on them and praying for them. But don't worry it's really not that weird - just ask any of us, we have all at one time or another required prayer and the benefits are enormous! 

Our aim is that whether you are just looking into Christianity for the first time, or have been a Christian for many years that you should be encouraged and inspired by the morning. We finish our meeting around 1pm.
