Privacy Statement for Mossvale Community Church (MCC) MCC has created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to the privacy of all Church members, attendees, and website visitors - and to indicate our compliance with the United Kingdom Data Protection Act 1998 and The Code of Practice for Disclosure Scotland. MCC may collect personally identifiable information, such as your name, home or work address, e-mail address or telephone number by any of the following methods: Gift Aid forms, Rotas, Application forms, Permission slips and any other future methods relevant to and required for the administration of Church activities and events. These forms will be appended with the following: Data Protection Act 1998. The information submitted in these forms will be used solely for the purpose for which it was given. It will be held confidentially, updated when appropriate and destroyed when no longer required. The information held will not be distributed to other organisations or individuals. In providing your personally identifiable information, you agree that MCC may collect, store and use this for the purposes of providing you with information about our current and future programme of activities, and facilitating the administration of the same. If you directly disclose personally identifiable information or personally sensitive data for display or publishing on MCC pin boards, or publicly distributed newsletters this information may be collected and used by others. MCC will only disclose your personal information, without notice, if required to do so by law or in good faith that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on MCC or it’s website; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of MCC; and, (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of MCC, or the public. MCC does not use or disclose sensitive personal information, such as race, religion, or political affiliations, without your explicit consent. We welcome your comments regarding this Statement of Privacy. If you believe that we have not adhered to this Statement, or are in danger of failing to adhere, please contact us and we will do everything in our power to promptly determine and remedy the problem. We will review this Statement of Privacy annually to reflect both your feedback and future requirements. We encourage you to periodically review this Statement to be informed of how MCC is protecting your information. Handling, holding and destroying of Disclosure information Disclosure information is stored in a lockable non portable unit that only the Child Protection Co-ordinator can access. Disclosure information is only retained for 90 days and is then destroyed by shredding. A record of the issue date and unique number of the Disclosure may be kept as per the Disclosure Scotland Code of Practice. www.mossvalecommunitychurch.co.uk In using our website you agree that MCC may collect, store and use any personal information which you have provided, for the purposes of updating you with information about our current and future programme of activities, and facilitating the administration of the same. We will not email you in the future unless you have given us your consent (except when you have already sent us an email). We do not use cookies or any other technology to track the patterns of behaviour of visitors to our site. This website may contain links to other sites. When you choose to visit those sites, we cannot assume responsibility for any other site's content or information handling practices. The site links to email addresses of MCC contacts where further information can be requested. Any messages sent to these email accounts will be dealt with as a person-to-person direct conversation. The personal details of people that email any MCC contacts are not used for any purpose other than for personal email communication. Our site provides MCC members/contacts the opportunity to opt-out of having their personal details being displayed on any part of the site.
