We have built a fruitful relationship with a Pastor in Ghana. Pastor Osmond is a man called by God from a Moslem background, now helping to reach the poor and needy, building an orphanage and school for the kids and with a vision to reach the West of Africa for Jesus. We have taken teams to Ghana three times, in what is now an annual trip every October, and Pastor Osmond has been able to visit Scotland also.

Since coming to know Jesus I've had a passion to reach out to those who have never heard the good news, but never imagined my work as a dentist would open doors in that direction. In the last 3 years I've been involved in short term mission work. 

In Mozambique I provide dental care in remote villages where there is no dentist, treating thousands of patients in acute pain. The crowds that gather also come to hear about the Lord Jesus. In Thailand I trained a local in one of the Burmese refugee camps to provide emergency dental care for his people. I also regularly visit orphanages for HIV/AIDS and disabled children.

The lovely people at MCC have provided medicines, bibles, materials for the Alpha discipleship course, have paid for a little girl to have a life saving operation, have sent gifts to the children and provided finances for little ones to be cared for and staff to be trained. They have prayed, supported and encouraged me. MCC is community of people who care for the broken and for one another.

 

 

4 the nations has established partnerships in Cameroon and Nigeria.

In Cameroon especially, we are supporting and partnering in the training and mentoring of leaders, development of radio and media ministries, church planting, and opportunities for teams to serve in variety of settings.

There have been opportunities for medical students to find elective placements and for teachers to gain experience in an African setting.
