Mossvale Church on Greenock Road, Paisley first opened in 1884 as a United Presbyterian Church. With denominational mergers it then went on to be United Free in 1900, and then Church of Scotland in 1929. In 1974 a congregational merger with North Parish formed Merksworth Church on Love Street, and the building was put up for sale. The doors were re-opened a year later as Miracle Pentecostal Church, pioneered by two brothers and their families, Pastor Robert and Jeanne Chalk, and Senior Elders Hugh and Isabel Chalk. From the 1990's the leadership team increased with Hugh and Gail Chalk, with Hugh becoming full-time Pastor in September 2003. In 2000, to demonstrate renewed vision and commitment to serving God by serving His people, Miracle Church was renamed MOSSVALE COMMUNITY CHURCH. In September 2003 MCC became recognised as a Scottish Charity SC034871.
